Kevin Durant Responds On If He’ll Ever Be As Good As He Was Before His Achilles Injury: “Is That A Real Question?”

As Kevin Durant continues to dominate this NBA postseason, people forget what the guy has endured over the last two seasons.

In the 2019 Finals, KD tore his Achilles in the prime of his career, robbing him of an entire season of NBA basketball before he was able to make his return.

Although he looks pretty good now, it hasn’t stopped people from questioning if Durant will ever “return” to being the player he was during his stint with the Warriors.

After an impressive Game 2, in which he scored 32 points, he was asked if he’ll ever be at his peak again, to which he provided a predictable response.

“Is that a real question?” Durant said. “What do you want me to say to that? Of course. That was two years ago. I’m looking forward to just getting up tomorrow, going to practice, watching film, and see how we can get better.”

Just two years ago, KD suffered that brutal Achilles injury that many thought would forever limit his game.

But so far, he has proved that he’s not yet done being an elite-level player. And if he leads this Nets team to a Finals win, this new era of his career could end up being more successful than his last.

Whatever the case, Durant doesn’t seem to have any questions about his future. So why should we?
