Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the league, and there's no doubt that his shot creation has earned him a lot of praise from analysts and fans alike. Despite the Nets' poor playoff run, Kevin Durant still had a great individual regular season, averaging 29.9 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 6.4 APG.

Wing players in the NBA are viewed in high regard by franchises, as they can often guard multiple positions while also having perimeter skills. Both things are important in the modern NBA. Recently, Kevin durant suggested that wing players are the most important players in the league, claiming that "it's a wings league". It is important to note that Kevin Durant himself is a wing player.

Both the teams in the Finals featured two-way wing players. The Boston Celtics had Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, while the Golden State Warriors had Andrew Wiggins. While a team's best player doesn't have to be an elite wing player for the team to win a championship, it is clear that two-way wings are huge factors in a team being able to win at the highest level.

There is a lot going on with the Brooklyn Nets right now, and it was recently reported that Kevin Durant is "considering options for his future". If the Brooklyn Nets core does remain the same though, they should in theory be a solid team with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons on the roster. 

Kevin Durant will have an opportunity to show the world that "it's a wings league" next season if he is able to win the NBA championship.
