A lot can change in 10 years in the NBA and you can ask Kevin Durant about it. The Brooklyn Nets superstar must be very happy to see the moves his team has made during his absence. They landed two big names in the buyout market with Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge and now are considered the clear favorites to win the NBA championship this season.
The Nets are the latest superteam in the association but back in 2010, Durantula was completely against them and he didn’t hesitate to show his disagreement with players picking specific teams to play just to have an easier competition in the league. Flash forward, we have Durant teaming up with two of the best offensive players in history in Kyrie Irving and James Harden, as well as two good veterans like Griffin and Aldridge.
Well, Durant wasn’t a fan of superteams before and he really wanted to beat those teams.
“Now everybody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let’s go back to being competitive and going at these peoples!” He tweeted back in 2010.

After Aldridge to the Nets was announced, people brought up the receipts and started calling out the player for his contradicting statement. In 2010, KD had three years in the league and a lot to live in the association. That didn’t make any difference with fans, who went after him.

Six years after that tweet, he would join the Golden State Warriors, creating one of the most overpowered teams in NBA history. Now he has one of the best offensive squads in the league and truth be told, they look scary. Teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat tried to improve their roster at the trade deadline and now in the buyout market. They could make life hard for the Nets but Steve Nash’s side looks just too powerful.
