Kevin Garnett Believes Rasheed Wallace Is The Right Person To Help Anthony Davis: “I Think Anthony Davis Needs An Influence That He Can Have, Someone In His Ears.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have made some changes to their coaching staff, bringing in Darvin Ham as their new head coach after parting ways with Frank Vogel. This hiring is expected to help the team find an identity again and compete for the championship next year, and Ham is already making moves to create the team he wants.

Besides Ham, Rasheed Wallace is joining the Purple and Gold as somebody that will demand the best from the players and won’t hesitate to call them out when something is off.

This is an addition that many people think will be beneficial for the 17-time NBA champions, as Kevin Garnett recently stated. KG and Sheed went at it plenty of times during their active days, and the former knows very well what the latter will bring to the table as the Lakers’ new assistant coach.

Talking about the new addition to the Lakers coaching staff, the 2004 NBA MVP showered Wallace in praise, explaining what the Detroit Pistons legend can do for Anthony Davis next season.

“I think this is great for this Lakers team. I think Anthony Davis needs an influence that he can have, someone in his ears. Rasheed Wallace is one of the best f**kin power forwards to ever play in our league, he is full of knowledge, he hasn’t shared that knowledge with the world, but I talk basketball with him several times, he is nothing below a genius and a mastermind.”

Davis struggled a lot with injuries last season, and Lakers Nation hopes to see a different version of him next campaign. If Wallace can help him improve his level and his body doesn’t bother him, we could see AD bouncing back and showing that he’s far from done in the association.
