Kevin Garnett is known as one of the most ferocious trash talkers in the history of the NBA. Big KG would verbally spar with anyone and everyone on the court. But even Garnett was not expecting one of his verbal opponents to be none other than The Dream, Hakeem Olajuwon. But the trash talk was truly hilarious.

Kevin Garnett spoke in a podcast about how Hakeem Olajuwon hit him with trash talk early on in his career. He noted that Olajuwon’s trash talk was so factual, that Garnett had no idea how to respond to it.

“Olajuwon, another motherf*cker that talked shit too,” Kevin Garnett said. “Olajuwon would do some sh*t like, take his mouthpiece out and say “hit him with lateral movement, he can’t do anything!”. How do I even respond to that?… I don’t even have nothing for that… I ain’t ever heard that.”

Garnett, as mentioned before, is one of the greatest trash-talkers of all time. So for him to be completely dumbfounded by Hakeem Olajuwon’s trash talk was definitely surprising. Perhaps Garnett was taken aback because Olajuwon was known to be more of a silent assassin, letting his play do the talking for him.

Kevin Garnett Could Talk Trash With Anyone

Kevin Garnett is known for being one of the most aggressive trash-talkers in NBA history. Many former players have talked about how Garnett would cross the line with his trash talk, bringing in personal insults that would have nothing to do with the game at hand. Udonis Haslem actually called out KG for crossing the line on a regular basis.

Garnett’s trash talk could backfire from time to time, as he learned the hard way. Michael Jordan taught him a lesson after KG trash-talked him during his early years in the league. But Garnett was definitely one of the players who could back up his trash talk.
