Independence, Ohio was the site of a nasty scene last week when one service animal, Harley, was hit by a car and left for dead on the street.

As the shocked owner rushed to check his pet, a good samaritan took it upon himself to stop traffic after checking on Harley himself.

That good samaritan turned out to be Kevin Love, who happened upon the accident on his way back from practice.

(per FOX News 8)

“I saw a car turn around and make a U-turn and started coming up real slow. I said, ‘oh no, something happened,’ so I opened up the door wider and looked out and… I saw her on the floor by the edge of the driveway, about a foot away from the driveway. She was lying flat down and I thought she was dead,” said Bob Flor Jr.

“I don’t know what I would do without her. I mean, she keeps me company, cries when I’m not around, that’s it. The love of my life,” said Flor.

The dog’s owner, Bob Flor Jr., was more than grateful for Love’s help and credited the Cavs star for saving his beloved pet.

It was Cavs forward Kevin Love who saw Harley on the side of the road as he was leaving practice at the team facility in Independence. He made a U-turn to check on Harley and to stop traffic.

“Because of him, really saved my dog,” Flor said. “Thank you, thank you very much for helping me with my dog and really saving my dog.”

While it will take months for Harley to fully recover, professionals say she’ll be okay. and after hearing that news on Twitter, Love sent one last message.

Kevin Love is revered by the Ohio community, and it’s clear to see why. Besides the loyalty he has shown to the Cavaliers, he has poured into the area with projects, good deeds, and an overall positive vibe that a lot of people need in these weird and trying times.

Despite some trade talks early on, the 5x All-Star has been crucial to Cleveland’s recent bout of success. Through 43 games this season, he’s averaging 14.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 43% shooting.

Of course, his best play of the season, without a doubt, is helping Harley avoid a tragic and untimely demise.
