There was a time when Kevin Love was one of the best players in the league at his position. Now, Love has succumbed to being a role player, and he currently plays for the Miami Heat.

Sure, Love is not the player he once was, but his addition has been crucial in helping the Miami Heat turn their season around. Speaking of the 34-year-old, he is on the verge of advancing to the 2023 NBA Finals with the Heat. An interesting stat about Love’s tenure in the NBA is that he has reached the finals every time he has made the playoffs.

Yes, it may sound crazy, but that’s the truth. Let’s take a look at when Love made it to the NBA finals after advancing to the NBA playoffs:

2015 NBA Finals with Cleveland Cavaliers (Lost 2-4 against the Golden State Warriors)

2016 NBA Finals with Cleveland Cavaliers (Won 4-3 against the Golden State Warriors)

2017 NBA Finals with Cleveland Cavaliers (Lost 1-4 against the Golden State Warriors)

2018 NBA Finals with Cleveland Cavaliers (Lost 0-4 against the Golden State Warriors)

So far, Love has played in four NBA Finals in his career and has a 1-3 record in them. Now, the veteran forward has another chance to play on the biggest stage in the league.

Kevin Love didn’t play in the playoffs since 2018, and this season when he finally got the opportunity to play again, his team (the Miami Heat) needs just one more win, so he will play in the NBA Finals again. Love is currently averaging 7.0 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.6 APG, 0.4 SPG, and 0.4 BPG this postseason.

Kevin Love Says He’d Jimmy Butler Over Any Other NBA Star When It Comes To Winning

Kevin Love joined the Miami Heat in the middle of the 2022-23 NBA season. Although he hasn’t even played a full season with Jimmy Butler, he has already recognized his talent.

To be precise, Love praised Butler for having a winning mentality better than any other player in the league.

“You know, one of the best closers in the game,” Kevin Love said. “I’ll take Jimmy Butler pretty much over anyone in the league when it comes down to winning. When it comes down to 6 minutes, 4 minutes, 2 minutes, making the last play. That’s why he is who he is. He brings so much out of this team, he expects so much from himself, that’s why we love him. He leads us every single night.”

Love made these comments in April 2023, and since then, Butler has proven time after time that he is indeed one of the best, if not the best, closer out there.
