Kevin Porter Jr. is one of the rising young talents in this league and has looked like a player with All-Star potential. He has shown what he can do on the Houston Rockets, and it looks like higher usage is doing wonders for his development.

Despite his amazing improvements in real-life basketball, it seems as though Porter Jr. was underrated in NBA 2K21, as he was rated a 75 overall prior to the recent update. Kevin Porter Jr. called out NBA 2K and said that he and everyone else know that he is better than that. While 2K21 did give him a slight rating boost to become a 77 rated overall, some would argue that his play has warranted a higher increase.

NBA 2K has been criticized by many before, with people citing the unrealistic nature of the basketball in that game, and obviously as shown here, the slightly inaccurate ratings. Kevin Porter Jr. is certainly a player that deserves another look at his overall, as what he has done since he got traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers merits some recognition. While some of his peers, like Stephen Curry, have acknowledged his improvement, it feels like 2K is a step behind.

The Houston Rockets have been tanking this season, and their position in the bottom of the rankings has somewhat overshadowed Kevin Porter Jr. and his rise on the team. However, the Houston Rockets have some exciting young players that could turn their fortunes around sooner rather than later. When the Houston Rockets start winning more, perhaps Kevin Porter Jr. will get the increase in overall that he deserves.
