  • The star admitted that he would take the game too seriously
  • Thompson said his brother was the one who stopped him from playing the game

NBA 2K is widely considered to be the premier basketball simulation game on the market. The franchise has many fans among NBA players and regular people alike, with millions purchasing the new installments every year.

However, there are definitely a number of people who dislike the game. In fact, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson explained why he stopped playing the game, explaining that he would get too angry while gaming.

“I had to retire from 2K, lately I would get too angry. My brother really put me in retirement. I would take that game way too serious, like ‘he’s not even that good, he shouldn’t be that rating, to the point where I’m like ‘What am I even doing it’s not that serious’. Even to the point last year I’m beefing with Ronnie2K about my shooting rating. I had a come to Jesus moment like, ‘bro I’m 32 years old and I care about my 2k rating, god please help me.'” (23:25)

There is no doubt that a lot of gamers get angry about their favorite games from time to time. However, that sort of rage at a video game can be unhealthy, and it is clear that Klay Thompson is trying to avoid taking games that seriously.

This past season, Klay Thompson averaged 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game for the Warriors. Though he might not be the player he was prior to his injury from a defensive standpoint and in terms of consistency, there’s no doubt that Thompson is still a shooting guard that can contribute to winning a championship.

Stephen Curry Thinks That Klay Thompson’s Shooting Form Is More Repeatable Than His For The Average Person

Many believe Klay Thompson has one of the best shooting forms in the league. In fact, his teammate Stephen Curry claimed that Thompson’s form is more repeatable for regular people than his own, because it is “uniform from the ground up”.

“I’d say his is more repeatable for the average person,” Curry said. “What I mean by that is it’s more kind of uniform from the ground up. You get your balance from the feet and then your power from the base and you work your way up from there.”

Though obviously, the majority of people will never be as good as Klay Thompson at shooting the basketball, they can still improve their own 3PT ability by watching how Thompson shoots.
