Klay Thompson has the unique distinction of leading the pack of players with the most three-pointers made this season, especially when the world’s greatest three-point man is his very own teammate, Stephen Curry.

It should be noted that Stephen Curry led the list of players to make the most threes last season, and Thompson, who made a return to action after 941 days after recovering from his injury, has now surpassed his splash brother.

Per ESPN, here’s a quick look at the list of the Top 10 players to have made the most three-pointers this season.

1. Klay Thompson – 278 (40.8%)

2. Buddy Hield – 271 (42.1%)

3. Stephen Curry – 250 (42.8%)

4. Damian Lillard – 244 (37.1%)

5. Donovan Mitchell – 231 (38.0%)

6. Jayson Tatum – 225 (34.4%)

7. Malik Beasley – 221 (35.6%)

8. Julius Randle – 218 (34.4%)

9. Anfernee Simons – 212 (37.7%)

10. Lauri Markkanen – 199 (39.6%)

On the season front, Thompson is the second-leading scorer for Golden State, averaging 21.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. While their 2022-23 run has been far from elite, the Warriors will be happy about the sharpshooter’s form as they stake a claim for the postseason.

Klay Thompson Still Got It, But Have The Golden State Warriors Got Enough In The Tank?

Not many expected Thompson to return to pristine form when he returned from injury last season for the Warriors. Rolling back to his comeback game against the Cleveland Cavaliers last year, he notched up 17 points from 7-of-18 shooting, including 3 of 8 from 3. All that in 19 minutes as Golden State trounced Cleveland 96-82.

While at it, he also unlocked some achievements on his return, passing 12,000 points and 1,800 made 3s for his career. Thompson’s return was also pivotal in the team’s championship run. The numbers he’s stacked up this season are a testament that he has still got it despite being out of action for a good couple of seasons.

By his own admission, he’s lost two years of his prime, but his recent performances show he’s far from done.

The ongoing season has seen the Warriors wobble. Injuries to their stars, coupled with an inconsistent run, have seen them sit sixth in the West with a 40-37 record. With five games left in the season, all eyes will be on Thompson and Curry to see them finish at a better seed and give the side a shot to defend their title.
