Kobe Bryant Wished He Could’ve Played With LeBron James During His Prime: “He’s A Passer First, I’m A Scorer, I’m A Finisher. ‘Bron Is A Facilitator By Nature And I’m A Finisher By Nature.”

Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest players to set foot on an NBA court. The late Los Angeles Lakers icon had a terrific career by coming back from disfavorable situations and pushing himself to overcome obstacles to improve his game during his tenure in the association.

The Black Mamba had the chance to share touches with legends of the sport, including Shaquille O’Neal, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, and Dwight Howard, to name a few. However, he wished he could have played with more stars and there is one that would have taken the former shooting guard’s scoring to the next level.

Four years ago, Kobe revealed he would have liked to play alongside LeBron James during his prime. Bryant talked about ‘Bron’s talents as a passer, which would have maximized his production. Talking on the Holding Court with Geno Auriemma podcast in 2017, Bryant had this to say:

“I think the player that would fit with me the most, I actually think would be LeBron. He’s a passer first, I’m a scorer, I’m a finisher. ‘Bron is a facilitator by nature and I’m a finisher by nature. Those two styles, I think complement each other extremely well.”

Many people lament that we never got to see a Kobe vs. LeBron Finals matchup, but others, including KB24, didn’t like the fact that they couldn’t play together in the association. They did share touches on Team USA, winning gold medals and showing flashes of how unfair a Kobe-LeBron duo would have been in the league.

It’s a bummer that their paths never crossed, especially knowing how well they got along. They had the utmost respect for each other and many people imagine they would have been incredibly dominant together.

In the end, LeBron and Kobe wore the Lakers jersey. Unfortunately, it wasn’t at the same time. If James was great alongside Dwyane Wade, imagine how terrific he would have been with Kobe by his side.
