Kyrie Irving And Jimmy Butler Were Singing ‘A Thousand Miles’ On The Team USA Jet While Carmelo Anthony Was Trying To Sleep

NBA players have a very rigorous routine when it comes to their playing careers. Playing one of the toughest sports in the world, athletes in the NBA always have to be in great shape and work really hard to maintain their elite level of play. But that doesn’t mean that these players don’t find any time to have fun together.

A lot of NBA players often choose to represent Team USA (or their respective countries if they are international players) at the Olympics. For many NBA stars, this is an opportunity for them to forget about their allegiances to their franchises and come together to bring glory to their country.

These trips often see a great deal of camaraderie among the players. And players usually try to have as much fun on these trips as possible. And during the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler began serenading the rest of the flight with a rendition of ‘A Thousand Miles’ by Vanessa Carlton.

The entire flight started having fun, and DeMar DeRozan and Kevin Durant joined in on the fun. DeRozan was recording the entire interaction and then panned over to a very tired and slightly irritated Carmelo Anthony, who was trying to sleep, but was woken up by the loud singing.

Melo was clearly tired and wasn’t too thrilled to be woken up by his teammates singing. But he didn’t seem too angry about the entire ordeal, as he understood that the players were just having fun together and unwinding ahead of a pretty stressful tournament.

The rest of the players were having fun, but Melo was just trying to sleep. This isn’t unsurprising. Melo was one of the many players caught on camera trying to sleep, especially during the flight to the 2012 London Olympics. Clearly, sleep is an important part of players’ routines, especially on long flights.
