Kyrie Irving put one of the best offensive performances in recent memory last night. Playing against the Orlando Magic, Kyrie Irving scored 60 points, as he helped the Brooklyn Nets get the win. It was a truly majestic performance from Irving, one that allowed him and his teammate Kevin Durant to make history in the NBA.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have become the first pair of teammates in NBA history to score 50+ points in consecutive games. Durant scored 53 points against the New York Knicks over the weekend. And Kyrie scored 60 points against the Magic last night. They are the first and only duo in NBA history to do so.

On Sunday, Kevin Durant scored 53 points.

Tonight, Kyrie Irving is at 51 (and counting).

Given the incredible duos we have seen in the NBA, such as Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, the fact that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are the first to accomplish this in the long history of the NBA is a little surprising.

But in all fairness, given the talent both Kyrie and KD possess, them dominating their opponents in consecutive games is not a massive surprise. Both Durant and Irving are considered two of the most talented players in the history of the league. And in the span of 2 days, they have proven why they are both deserving of that distinction.

Fans were amazed by Kyrie’s performance. And Durant even told fans to go back and watch his performance once again. The Nets will be hoping that Kyrie will eventually be allowed to play home games again, especially in time for the playoffs. The potential of the Nets’ big three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and new arrival Ben Simmons is off the charts, and the Nets will be eagerly waiting to see them on the court together.
