Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the league when he’s on the court, notably excelling at shot creation, 3PT shooting, and ballhandling on the offensive side of the ball. As of right now, Kyrie Irving is averaging 27.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.3 APG.

Even though Kyrie Irving was having a good season with the Brooklyn Nets, he ended up requesting a trade from the franchise, with that resulting in him getting traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Some, like Charles Barkley, have recently criticized stars for putting in trade requests. Kyrie Irving has clapped back at those criticisms, and it is clear that the star believes stars should freely be able to request trades.

When did it become terrible to make great business decisions for yourself, your happiness & your peace of mind? Not every employer you’re going to get along with.

It is true that there are times when it is reasonable for a player to request a trade from their franchise. However, it is easy to see why people who watch games would be frustrated with players frequently moving from franchise to franchise.

Kyrie Irving Could Re-Sign With The Dallas Mavericks

Kyrie Irving will be a free agent at the end of the season, and there is already some speculation that he will end up leaving the Dallas Mavericks. However, it is also possible that Irving will stay with the Mavericks. Previously, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that it is “more likely than not” that he will remain with the team.

“I think it’s more likely than not Kyrie Irving stays in Dallas,” said Woj. “Just because of what they invested in him. And his chance to get the kind of contract he wants. I think given of what they gave up and Dallas’ track record of being willing to pay players who want to be there. I think it’s more likely than not Kyrie Irving is in Dallas… I do think [the Lakers] traded for Russell with the idea they’ll go forward with him on a new deal.”

Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are already one of the best backcourts in the league, if not the outright best. Some even believe that they are the best duo in the Western Conference.

Hopefully, we see the Dallas Mavericks find some degree of playoff success this year, and there is a chance that they will make the Finals this year. The further they get the better the team’s chances of re-signing Kyrie Irving, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
