Kyrie Irving is one of the most thrilling players in the NBA, and he proved it in the Play-In game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets. Irving scored 34 points on 12-15 shooting, while also adding 12 assists.

The Nets have cemented a playoff matchup against the Boston Celtics in the first round with this win. Irving spoke to the media afterward and shared his candid thoughts on the team’s performance, acknowledging the job well done while also recognizing there’s a lot more left to do to win a title.

Yeah man, we’re gonna speak positive into this whole entire journey so far. It’s been ups and it’s been downs, but we’ve stayed together and remained resilient. We’ve been through a lot of changes and we’ve evolved since the last time we came out of All Star break. It’s good, but we know the job isn’t finished.

Kyrie also spoke about his performance coming while he has been fasting every day for the auspicious month of Ramadan.

“It’s a journey with God and I am not alone in this, I have brothers and sisters around the world that are fasting with me. We hold our prayers and our meditation very scared. When you come out here, God’s inside me, God’s inside you, God’s inside everyone. I am walking with faith and when I get the chance to perform in this arena and showcase the talents that have been gifted to me by God.

The game ended 108-115 in the Nets’ favor. Cleveland was led by Darius Garland, who scored 34 points in the game. However, the Cavs are missing Jarrett Allen and Collin Sexton, which made this a much harder challenge for the young upstarts who look to make the playoffs without LeBron James for the first time this century.
