Kyrie Irving Stomps On Boston Celtics Logo After 39-Point Performance

The relationship between Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics is pretty much unsalvageable at this point. Over the weekend, the guard returned to the TD Garden in a playoff atmosphere to find out that fans are still angry at him.

Seeing how he handled his exit from the team, this is understandable. Still, even Kyrie’s father claimed that his son must feel bad about the way he left the franchise months after he promised them he would stay.

Kyrie was welcomed with boos at the Garden, and somebody even threw a bottle of water towards him after Sunday. Before this incident, Kyrie stomped on the Celtics’ logo while cheering his teammates after the 141-126 win over his former team.

The 2016 NBA talked about the fans at the Garden and their attitude when he was part of the team. His comments on the ‘subtle racism’ he lived during his days in Boston sparked something inside these supporters, and they let him know during his 2-game trip to the city.

The Nets are bound to make it to the second round of the 2021 NBA playoffs. Steve Nash’s team is one win away from making it to the next stage, where Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks are waiting for them.

There is no love between Kyrie and the Celtics fans, with both parties confirming that every time they can. The player lived a very unfortunate moment when somebody decided it was a good idea to throw a bottle in his direction, but fortunately, that situation was quickly solved. Kyrie is now headed to Brooklyn, where he’ll try to seal the deal for the Nets this Tuesday.
