Kyrie Irving Will Reportedly Leave The Brooklyn Nets, While Kevin Durant’s Future With The Team Is In The Air

2 Min Read

The Kyrie Irving saga gets better by the day, with new details emerging about the Brooklyn Nets’ veteran guard plans this offseason and what the Nets can do to prevent his exit from Barclays Center. He’s been linked with a variety of teams recently, but it’s unclear which one will take his services if he leaves Brooklyn.

Still, the general belief around the league right now is that Kyrie is living his last days with the Nets, as he’s set to find a new team this summer. After reporting the impasse Irving had with the Nets, Shams Charania reports that Irving is set to leave Brooklyn, which also has an effect on Kevin Durant’s future with the team.

According to the insider, Irving is leaving the Nets, while KD’s future is up in the air at the moment. KD is reportedly studying options for his future, but other reports suggest that Durant will request a trade from Brooklyn if Kyrie leaves.

“Kyrie Irving, it appears, is going to find a new home and Kevin Durant has four years left on his contract… His future is very much right now in the air.”

The 2021/22 NBA season wasn’t easy for the Nets, who had to deal with Kyrie’s refusal to take the covid-19 vaccine and James Harden’s desire to leave the team. After that, the relationship with Kyrie wasn’t the same and now things appear to be broken between them.

The market for Irving is pretty big, and Durant will gain even more attention if he’s placed on the trade block. However, we can still see this situation changing and the two stars staying at Barclays Center. Time will tell how this situation will play out, but right now, it doesn’t look very promising for the Nets.
