With the Minnesota Timberwolves adding Rudy Gobert and the Portland Trail Blazers retooling quickly, the Western Conference is again looking as deep as ever. The Clippers will get their superstars back, the Pelicans will get Zion Williamson back, and even the Kings are looking like they might be competitive next season.

So it’s a very good take to suggest that the West has next to no easy game next season. And if NBA legend Isiah Thomas had just said that much, maybe it wouldn’t have blown up. However, Thomas reportedly suggested this while also taking a shot at the Los Angeles Lakers, with a tweet about his supposed quote blowing up and drawing quite a reaction from Lakers fans on the website.

According to a tweet from Clippers writer Joey Linn, the ‘Bad Boy’ Isiah Thomas speaking about the Lakers and the Western Conference quoted: “There’s no easy games in the Western Conference… If you’re looking at an easy game, maybe the Lakers.”

Fans were quick to react, with many talking about how the Lakers shouldn’t be judged by last season and that things have a very good chance of being different going forward.

“Ain’t no way that came out his mouth when we got the Kings or the Rockets.”

“What is he talking about, man?”

“We seeing everything y’all saying.”

“I heard that too, this was out of pocket.”

So many dudes talking so much cuz AD was injured, Lakers about to take over again next season.”

“Kyrie announcement is gonna make people weep.”

“That’s funny because Pistons wasn’t relevant for 18 years now.”

“Nah, IT wildin with this take.”

“Isiah who?”

“That’s cap and everyone knows it.”

“I need the Lakers to shut all the haters up next season.”

Considering how poor the Lakers were last season and the fact that Russell Westbrook might still be on the roster next season, Thomas could feel like he isn’t exactly wrong on this one. However, if the Lakers can get back to dominating next season, their fans surely won’t let anyone forget about the slights.
