The Los Angeles Lakers are on a bit of a roll and the Toronto Raptors were their latest victims.

The Lakers made it 3 wins in a row as they beat the Raptors 122-112, as their new acquisitions impressed yet again. D’Angelo Russell led the way with 28 points to go with 9 assists and Lakers fans are thrilled by what they are seeing.

“I still can’t believe we got D’Angelo Russell for Russell Westbrook lmao.” said a Lakers who cannot believe they managed to land Russell for Russell Westbrook.

“Lakers will be the 6th seed by Monday.” claimed a fan who is very optimistic they’ll get the 6th seed in a few days after a performance like this.

“Nah Russ really had the Lakers cooked for 2 whole years… It feels so good to be back.” said a fan who feels Russell Westbrook had been holding back the franchise.

“Thank you Rob Pelinka. You are the best GM in the NBA.” hailed a fan who praised their GM Rob Pelinka for trading for the likes of Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt.”

“Major props to Rui Hachimura. Dlo and Dennis are getting the headlines, and rightfully so. But Rui kept us afloat when we had absolutely nothing going on offense.” said a fan who wanted to point out Rui Hachimura’s contribution to the win.

Led by Russell, the Lakers had 5 players scoring in double digits, as Dennis Schroder had 23, Austin Reaves had 18, and Vanderbilt and Hachimura had 16 each. Anthony Davis only had 9 points as he was double-teamed by the Raptors but it didn’t matter as the rest of the team stepped up in a big way, especially in the fourth quarter, to get the win.

This result made it 3 wins in a row as they improved to 33-34. The Lakers are now 8-3 in their last 11 games and are just one game behind the 6th-seeded Dallas Mavericks. Any hope they had of securing that 6th seed seemed to have vanished when LeBron James went down with that injury, but it is a real possibility now that they could finish that high. LeBron was delighted with this win, stating that he loves this team and no one can blame him for that.

Just How Far Can The Lakers Go This Season?

While it is up in the air on just when LeBron returns, he will be back come playoff time. LeBron is desperate to get back as soon as possible, but with the team playing so well, the Lakers might just want him to take his time and get fully healthy for the postseason.

LeBron with a month off before the playoffs is a scary proposition for the rest of the league as he will be fresh and ready to go berserk. If the rest of the team keeps playing at this level once James is back, the Lakers will fancy their chances against anybody.
