LaMelo Ball Had A Big Reaction After De’Aaron Fox Missed Two Clutch Free Throws vs. Hornets

2 Min Read

Even though he didn’t play on Friday night, LaMelo Ball had a blast watching his Charlotte Hornets taking on the Sacramento Kings at Spectrum Center. It was a very intense and hard-fought game that waited until the last second to define the winner.

The Kings had a big chance to get the dub, but their star, De’Aaron Fox, missed two clutch free throws, clearing the way for the Hornets to survive a very close match. With 2.4 seconds left on the clock, Caleb Martin fouled Fox, seemingly ending his team’s chances to win the match.

At the time, Fox was perfect from the FT line, making his eight attempts. Everybody thought it was a lock for the Kings to win the match until the point guard missed the first free throw.

LaMelo reacted to that, wondering if he would miss the two.

When Fox indeed missed the second free shot, Ball lost it. He took to Twitter to show his excitement after the Hornets secured the 124-123 win.

Melo didn’t play due to COVID-19 protocols, but he followed the game very closely, wishing the best for his teammates and somehow jinxing Fox when he took the two free throws to at least send the game to overtime.

The Hornets have touched earth after an exciting start to the season, where they even sat atop the Eastern Conference standings. Now, they’re 8th in the conference with a 15-13 record. Before the start of the campaign, nobody thought they could improve what they did last season, yet they’re still rolling even without Melo on the court.

The future is bright for this squad and it’s good to see they are really confident in the squad. They don’t have big names and Melo is their star, but the collective plays with pride and wants to end the playoff drought this season.
