The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t win a single game in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, getting swept by the Denver Nuggets, who were ruthless against LeBron James and co.

While the King played at his best level, especially in Game 4, Anthony Davis lacked aggressiveness and was constantly dominated by his rivals. Unseen footage shows LeBron James and Austin Reaves getting heated and calling him out for his poor effort on the court.

The video shows Reaves asking AD to ‘give something’ to the team, as he was stagnant. The Brow looks at the younger player, seemingly admitting his teammate was right.

Right before that moment, LeBron asked where the help was, but Davis never showed up as the Nuggets scored in the paint. Moreover, after he got scored on, Davis and James went to the bench, and LeBron stared his teammate down, showing that he wasn’t happy with his performance.

LeBron James and Austin Reaves didn’t always play well, but they always showed a desire to get the ball, to play with aggressiveness, to show that they wanted to win, but AD was something different.

Anthony Davis Once Again Underperformed For The Lakers

Anthony Davis couldn’t make an impact on this series, as Nikola Jokic constantly beat him, and even though AD tried to put up a fight on offense against the Joker, AD simply couldn’t take his team to the promised land.

Davis did post good numbers during this series, averaging 26.8 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.8 blocks per game. Still, he couldn’t translate all these numbers into wins and the Lakers were swept by arguably the best team in the 2022-23 NBA season.

The Lakers have a series of questions to answer this offseason, especially with LeBron James. The King might be hinting at a potential retirement, but time will tell if he ends up hanging the shoes this summer.

Some say the Lakers should trade AD, but he’s still considered the present and future of the 17-time NBA champions.
