Perhaps no sports icons have been idolized more than LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
As two of the greatest athletes to ever walk the earth, it’s fair to say their legacies transcend basketball itself at this point. But what would you pay for memorabilia involving the two? $5,000? $10,000? $50,000? For one fan, his limit was a number way beyond any of those.
For a special trading card from the 2003-04 NBA season, featuring two real logo patches taken from the jerseys of MJ and Bron, an anonymous buyer paid a whopping $900,000 dollars.

This purchase actually set the record for the most expensive piece of MJ/Bron memorabilia ever. What makes the card so special is that it features both LeBron and Jordan, instead of just something from one or the other individually.

Someone who has almost $1,000,000 to spend on a trading card is obviously someone who doesn’t have to be very frugal with his earnings. Who knows, it might be part of his own personal collection that he can turn around and sell later.
Still, the fact that someone really paid all that for a card and a couple of logo patches really show just how beloved these sports stars are.
