Team USA has recently beat France to clinch a gold medal in men’s basketball during the Tokyo Olympics. This win continues to solidify Team USA’s continued dominance on the international stage of basketball. They only placed 7th during the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, but they have won the last four Olympics, and it looks as though their future looks bright.
The fans back in the United States were likely happy to see their team win the Gold once again, and it looks as though the team’s recent performances have alleviated any concerns about other countries threatening their status at the top of the basketball world. It seems as though NBA stars are fans of Team USA as well, as many congratulated the squad on their victory. Among them was LeBron James, who is an Olympic winner himself.

There is no question that Team USA had its struggles during these Olympics, but they have successfully overcome them under the leadership of Kevin Durant. The France team that they beat in the gold medal had some quality NBA players, including reigning DPOY Rudy Gobert and New York Knicks shooting guard Evan Fournier. France may have gotten the silver, but they put up a good fight. Rudy Gobert took the time to congratulate Team USA on the win as well, showing his good sportsmanship.
Congratulations to @usabasketball for winning the gold. You guys earned it. Words cannot describe how proud i am of my brothersπ«π· and what weβve accomplished as a group. We will be back stronger.

There is a lot of good talent coming out of the USA right now, with there being a lot of rising young stars across the league, such as Zion Williamson and Trae Young. However, the talent across the world has increased as well: we’ve seen some dominant international players enter the league. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic are all highly regarded in the league, and it is an international superstar that has recently led his team to the NBA championship.
Despite the rising competitiveness of the game internationally, this Team USA team’s Olympic win has shown that United States basketball is still a dominant force that is to be reckoned with.
