LeBron James Says Watching His Son, Bryce, Inspired Him To Lock In For Game 6 Vs. Grizzlies

King James reveals his ultimate inspiration after first playoff series win this season.

Even at 38 years old, LeBron James continues to be among the NBA’s top performers, and his play in the postseason is giving the Lakers a real chance to win it all.

During yesterday’s close-out game in Los Angeles, James dropped 22 points and 6 assists in a blowout victory and proved once again that he can deliver for this squad when they need him the most. According to the King, however, watching his son Bryce in his AAU game yesterday helped unlock an extra gear against Memphis.

“My sons keep me young. My won Bryce actually had an AAU game in Phoenix tonight so up until about 45 minutes on the clock I was watching his game. And watching him perform, seeing him play that kinda inspired me as well…”

Bryce is LeBron’s youngest son and just a few years behind Bronny, who is scheduled to hit the draft next summer. We don’t know a ton about Bryce or his future plans, but we do know that he’s a hooper who has clearly picked up a few lessons from his dad.

His second son, Bryce, who’s 15, was born during the 2007 Finals, so he’s like a young sophomore,” said ESPN’s Brian Windhorst in October. “He is much more physically gifted, he’s taller than Bronny already, he looks more like his dad, although not really, but he is more reminiscent of what LeBron looked like as a 16-year-old. He has a lot of differing interests. He’s getting into basketball, at least at this point, he doesn’t have the same focus on basketball as Bronny does. So the interesting thing is, the more naturally talented son appears to be his second son, Bryce. But the one who wants it so badly is Bronny.”

It will be some time before Bryce takes his place in the NBA, but LeBron clearly has plenty left in the tank as the NBA’s top superstar.

Can LeBron Lead Lakers To A Championship This Year?

Whether it’s through his sons or the opponent’s trash talk, LeBron always finds a way to bring his best come playoff time, and it’s good to know that it hasn’t changed after all these years.

With James and Anthony Davis having already sent the 2nd seeded Grizzlies home, Lakers Nation is feeling confident about the path ahead. And as long as LeBron is healthy and focused for the rest of the way,  the Purple and Gold stand a chance against anyone.
