This season has been a whirlwind for the Los Angeles Lakers, but LeBron James is feeling pretty good about where his team stands now. After a dominant performance against the Grizzlies on Friday, James and the Lakers have moved on to the second round, where they will face off against either the Kings or Warriors.
Of course, at 38 years old, James cannot carry a team to victory like he used to. But his play has been good enough to win so far, and he finds himself in good spirits on the cusp of the Conference Semi-Finals which is why the Lakers star took to Twitter with a verse from legendary hip-hop artist, Jay-Z.
Unlike you little 🤬I'm a grown ass man
Big shoes to fill 🤬, grown ass pants
Prolly hustled with your pops, go ask your parents
Its apparent you're staring at a legend
Who, put a few little 🤬in the they place before
Trying to eat without saying they grace before! 🤫👑

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell that this tweet is aimed at the Grizzlies. All season long, that team was quick to fire on trash talk and other forms of show-boating as they were winning games. But after being humbled and sent home, it seems LeBron is doing all the talking now, and he’s making it known that he still runs the league.

Obviously, the job is not yet finished for the Lakers, but they have conquered their first big test of the playoffs, and there is a sense that more is yet to come.
Is LeBron On His Way To Winning His Fifth NBA Championship?
After their defeat against Memphis, many fans and experts have predicted a successful title run for the Lakers this year, but it remains to be seen how much farther they can go.
As LeBron knows, the road only gets harder from here, and the Lakers’ durability remains a huge question mark as we get deeper and deeper into the playoff bracket.
At the very least, however, the Lakers have shown enough that nobody should be counting them out in the West.
“We got a lot of young guys, I understand that it’s my job to make sure they’re even keel,” said LeBron after Game 4. “One game is not going to define the whole series. We have to be better. I want everyone to be comfortable when we go on the floor and just play free. Let me worry about the Xs and Os and the tactical things and all the other stuff, I can do that, I have the ability to do that.”
The vibes are immaculate in LA right now, and the Lakers are on cloud 9 after completing the upset over Memphis. But if they cannot let themselves get complacent now, or it could spell the end of their miraculous turnaround.
