Ja Morant couldn’t take his Memphis Grizzlies to the promised land this season, falling short to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
After the game was over and Ja took his L after saying he was ‘fine in the West,’ Lakers fans accompanied and trolled him during his walk of shame exiting Crypto.com Arena.
"Shut it down, Ja!"

The good thing about this interaction is that Ja played along and was smiling while Lakers fans mocked him. This is great to see after he admitted to being under a lot of stress and not knowing how to deal with it.
Morant remains one of the future faces of the league, but this year wasn’t the one when he would win the championship. The Grizzlies did a terrific job during the regular season, but their level decreased a lot after they started getting involved in controversies.

Morant also touched on this, admitting he was aware that his actions affected his team. The player vowed to be better in the future both on and off the court. If the Grizzlies want to be successful, they need Morant to be his best version when he’s playing and when he’s not.
“I’ve just got to be better with my decision-making,” Morant said. “That’s pretty much it. Off-the-court issues affected us as an organization pretty much. Just [need] more discipline.”
Now that the season is over, it’s time to get some rest and get ready for the next NBA season. The Grizzlies can make some moves that can once again make them championship contenders, but it’s too early to tell if they’ll be able to do so.
Morant seems to be more mature now, and if the Grizzlies follow him, this team will have a bright future in the NBA.
