LeBron James Takes Major Shot At Donald Trump In Postgame Press Conference

2 Min Read

LeBron James played his first game since the NBA hiatus and he looked pretty good, dropping 12 points and five assists in just 15 minutes of action.

But James made headlines today not for what he did during the game, but for what he said after.

In the end, after taking the loss, James spoke to the media and said a word about the issues plaguing our time (including the COVID-19 pandemic and civil rights protests). Naturally, Donald Trump came up and King James was quick to flame him

“In 2016, Barack [Obama] was our President. We know what’s going on now. Is that progress? I think we all can say that’s not progress.”

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you already know about the history between James and President Trump.

The two have never seen eye-to-eye and James has routinely called him out publicly to express his grievances.

As for the current state of the nation, it is true that things could be better. Millions are sick, thousands have died, and many more have lost their jobs. Meanwhile, cities are burning, the black community is hurting, and everyone is hungry for change.

Good on James to be brave enough to talk about these issues publicly and here’s to hoping he’s part of the solution.
