LeBron James is arguably the biggest Madden fan in the entire NBA, previously professing his love for the video game. Fans have seen James spend hours online playing the game, with a Lakers player claiming he’s the best player of the game on the team

When James saw a picture of someone playing Fortnite on the Fenway Park video board, he requested the Boston Red Sox to let him play Madden in the same way.

“Ayyyyeee!! Let me get some Madden games going on there!”

James making a request of this nature holds a lot of weight. After all, he is a part-owner of the Fenway Sports Group, the group that owns the Boston Red Sox. James used to own a stake in the Premier League club Liverpool before trading that in for a 1% stake in the parent company. He’s one of their partners and that may be key for his retirement plans

For now, watching LeBron play Madden against a Red Sox player in Fenway Park would be an incredible campaign that the team could run for a social media boost. With James part of the ownership group, it’s clear he has the sway to get something like this done if he wants it to happen.

Fenway Sports Group Is Crucial For LeBron James’ Next Career Step

LeBron is looking ageless on the court, averaging 25.0 points, 7.4 assists, and 7.3 rebounds in his 21st season in the league. Performing at this level at the age of 39 with the miles on his body is unprecedented, with James charting his course of NBA history. Regardless, his career has to come to an end soon. But what will be next for this billionaire?

James wants to own an NBA team soon. Despite his billion-dollar valuation, James will need the support of Fenway Sports Group to make a deal like this happen. He has openly expressed his desire to be an owner of the rumored Las Vegas expansion franchise that everyone expects to be introduced after the NBA inks its new media rights deal.

“It just makes sense. Obviously, you have the Raiders here, you have the (Golden Knights) here, you have the Aces here. You got F1 coming very soon. All-Star Weekend has been here a few times. You’ve got the NBA Summer League that’s very popular. Sports is here.”

The biggest obstacle for pursuing a Las Vegas franchise has also been removed, as Las Vegas casino magnate Miriam Adelson purchased the Dallas Mavericks recently, with the ownership group committing to keeping the franchise in Dallas.

Naturally, there will be stiff competition to bag an NBA franchise, with Shaquille OI’Neal also wanting to be in the mix. But James is well-positioned right now to make this a reality when the opportunity comes.
