The Los Angeles Lakers will most likely receive a boost in the form of Russell Westbrook when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.

Following their 134-120 loss to the Sacramento Kings, the Lakers will hope for a turnaround and get their campaign back on track against a struggling Hornets unit. With Anthony Davis ruled out for at least a month, the onus will once again be on LeBron James, who has been consistent for the side.

Both teams meet for the first time this season, and this contest serves as the perfect opportunity to right the ship, given the Lakers are 13th in the West and the Hornets are 14th in the East, respectively. The visitors have been hampered by injuries, and that has been one of the key factors behind their 8-24 record.

For LA, it’s been a predictable look so far where they underperform without Davis in the mix. Ahead of the marquee clash, here’s a look at the Lakers’ injury report.

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report Against The Charlotte Hornets: LeBron James And Russell Westbrook Are Probable

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without the services of Anthony Davis, whose foot injury prognosis is still a topic of discussion. The Purple and Gold were severely short-handed against the Kings, with Westbrook and Austin Reaves missing out.

The good news is that James will almost definitely take the floor with Westbrook, with both of them listed as probable. Reaves (ankle) might sit this contest out as well, with ESPN’s updated injury report listing him as questionable. Also missing out is Juan Toscano-Anderson (ankle).

The Lakers sans Davis await a stern test in the coming weeks, and James has been vocal about how the side can’t let their injuries dampen their competitive spirit. Per Spectrum SportsNet:

“We can lose some key guys and feel for the individual, but the competitive spirit should never go. We should never lose the notion to wanna compete.”

For the Hornets, Cody Martin (knee) is out, and both Terry Rozier (hip) and Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) are questionable.
