The Los Angeles Lakers had a very entertaining trade deadline, making some big moves that are paying off right now.

The Purple and Gold, however, might have missed out on some big targets, even regretting not trading some of their current pieces.

“After overhauling the supporting cast around LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the deadline, the Lakers may not have the stomach for the massive move they’d need to rationalize giving up a 2029 first-round pick. Since they are otherwise short on sweeteners, though, that would limit their options.

“Is Burks gettable? You can argue he should be as a 31-year-old on a young Detroit team that is posting one of the worst winning percentages in franchise history. He can’t change the Pistons’ fortunes, but he might put the Lakers in better position for playoff success as a spot-up shooter, willing defender and secondary shot-creator.”

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report listed Burks as a target the Purple and Gold could land and didn’t. They still had some deals to make before the trade market closed, but Burks is considered a very important one.

Still, the Lakers are on a very good run that places him only one game away from the .500 mark. They could reach it for the first time this season with a win against the New York Knicks tonight, but their rivals will be ready to ruin their plans.

How Lakers Can Land Draymond Green This Summer

Meanwhile, the Lakers are still mentioned in trade rumors for when the 2022-23 NBA season ends. Draymond Green has been mentioned as a potential candidate to join the Lakers in the summer and create the perfect lineup alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving.

The Purple and Gold have found a way to be competitive this season, and the final stretch of the regular season will be crucial for them. The team is ready to make some noise and perhaps shock one of the top-4 seeds in the upcoming playoffs. LeBron James is injured right now and the team has kept winning games.

Once the King returns, it’ll be more difficult for rivals, as these Lakers are no joke.
