Magic Johnson On What LeBron James Needs To Become An All-Time Great Laker: “Just Win. He’s Got To Win Another One.”

LeBron James is entering his fourth season with the Los Angeles Lakers, trying to get revenge from last season’s fiasco. The purple and gold were considered the favorites to come out of the West, but injuries and an inspired Phoenix Suns team prevented them from defending their 2020 title.

Things haven’t started well for the Lakers this season. They couldn’t win a single preseason game, and the Golden State Warriors extended their losing streak in the season opener.

The experiment of LeBron, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook is yet to click, but The King is confident things will eventually fall into place for Frank Vogel’s squad. Magic Johnson has high expectations for this team and LeBron, as he recently revealed what’s next for them.

Talking with The New York Times, the 5x NBA champion said that LeBron must win another championship to become one of the best players to ever don the Lakers jersey.

“Just win. He’s got to win another one.”

“The Laker fans already love him. He’s already brought us one. He’s already got his jersey, it’ll be hanging up, but most of the guys who’ve been with the Lakers have won multiple championships. So, that’s all he has to do. Just win another one. Then it’s not just about the Lakers. It’s all about his legacy here, and it’s not just here — it’s in Hollywood. LeBron, he’s so amazing, not just as a basketball player, but he’s the biggest celebrity in a celebrity-driven town. So you got to give him credit for that too, as well.”

LeBron is hungry to win this season. Following a disappointing campaign, these Lakers are on a mission right now. Even though things aren’t good for them, the Lakers keep working on getting things back on track and winning the 18th NBA championship.

James is looking for his 5th title, which could improve his GOAT case. LeBron is one of the biggest winners in NBA history and adding another title to his resume would be huge for him and, of course, the Lakers.
