Nikola Jokic’s NBA Finals MVP trophy, which was reported missing, has been found and is all set to be displayed during the Denver Nuggets‘ victory parade on Thursday.

ESPN’s Malika Andrews confirmed the news. â€œRest assured, the Nuggets’ longtime equipment guru Sparky Gonzales has the trophy cleaned and detailed and it’s ready for Thursday’s parade,” she tweeted.

Amid the Nuggets’ celebrations, Jokic stunned the NBA world when he revealed that he had lost the Finals MVP trophy, and later it was reported that the team’s equipment man, Sparky Gonzales had it in his possession in lieu of the parade preparations.

Jokic was a force in the playoffs averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game. In the 2023 NBA Finals, Jokic averaged 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 7.2 assists, rightfully earning the MVP award. He also made history by becoming the first player in NBA history to lead a playoff run in points, rebounds, and assists. Come Thursday, and he will proudly flaunt his silverware.

Austin Rivers Describes Where Nikola Jokic’s Trophy Would Go

Such has been his simplicity that despite all the praise and admiration, Nikola Jokic has firmly maintained that he wants to go home and get some much-needed rest over all the fanfare. And Austin Rivers had the perfect response as to what Jokic would do with his trophy once he goes home.

“He’s so cool and collected to where, even after bad losses, he’s quiet. He moves the same way, never too high, never too low. That trophy of his is gonna end up somewhere in a garage and he’s going to race some horses and that’s the mystique to him. That’s why people really like him. He’s hard to market but people are starting to come around to his ‘I don’t give a f**k’ nature. Jokic is an animal man and he has this way about him that you can’t even explain. It’s nothing I have ever been around.”

Knowing Jokic and his demeanor, it won’t be a stretch to imagine. He’s a man who has made it clear that there is more to life than basketball. So one could imagine him outdoors with his horses and the trophy, perhaps in a cabinet at home.
