Metta World Peace Says He Smoked 10 Blunts To Celebrate Lakers Title

2 Min Read

Metta World Peace was the happiest person on earth last Sunday, as the Los Angeles Lakers clinched their first NBA title in 10 years. Metta was part of that team that won the title in 2010, having big participation in that championship. He felt this win like his and decided to celebrate in a big way.

While LeBron James and co. were popping champagne, dancing in the locker room, Sandiford-Artest (as he is currently named) was having his won celebration, bringing the secret stuff to celebrate the Lakers’ success after a tumultuous NBA season.

“I was just home and sparked a blunt,” Sandiford-Artest told USA TODAY Sports. “I was partying the whole day by myself with two or three close friends. We sparked — I don’t even know — maybe 10 blunts. We had a great time. I deserved it. The Lakers won. It was crazy. It felt like I won.

“I try not to indulge like I used to when I could go out, but I had a really good time in the house.”

As happy as he was, he wasn’t surprised by the result. He knew LeBron could get the job done before it all happened.

“It wasn’t surprising. I knew LeBron was going to win,” Sandiford-Artest said. “He definitely is destined to win a title. But I was watching. It was like a movie that you knew what was happening.”

The Lakers are living their best life right now, more so after Anthony Davis decided to opt out of his contract to re-sign with the team in the offseason. If things keep going this way, Metta will need a lot of blunts for his celebrations.
