All U Can Heat

Just a season removed from an NBA Finals berth, the Miami Heat came into the 2021 campaign with a lot of hope and ultra-high expectations.

But whether by injuries, bad luck, or something completely different, Miami never lived up to those expectations, suffering a first-round sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Fortunately for Heat fans, team President Pat Riley is bringing in some reinforcements.

“There will be a lot of news coming along the way.”

It remains to be seen how the Heat will improve their team. With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo making up the core of the roster, Miami will have to find the right players.

Some potential names could include Kyle Lowry, Doug McDermott, or even Cleveland’s Kevin Love if he gets bought out.

Either way, free agency will be key for this Heat team.

The first key date to watch is Aug. 1 when the organization must make tough decisions on Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala. Both players are likely gone, but not definitely. That will be followed by possible bidding wars for restricted free agents Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson. But free agency is where Miami could make the most noise.

Needless to say, Riley has some stuff planned this offseason, and it could change the state of the Eastern Conference next year.
