Christmas is the festival of giving and Juanita Vanoy, Michael Jordan’s ex-wife, got a rather interesting present from their daughter, Jasmine. Vanoy took to Instagram to hilariously call out Jasmine for giving her a Louis Vuitton box on which she wrote that she just needed the box and there was no LV product inside it.

Well, at least she gave her mother a heads up instead of leaving her disappointed upon not finding a Louis Vuitton product inside it. Vanoy did not reveal what was in the box, but I’d like to think Jasmine gave her a good present.

Jasmine Spoke About What It Is Like To Be Michael Jordan’s Daughter While Working For Jordan Brand

Jasmine is the youngest of the three children that Jordan had with Vanoy and is also their only daughter. She too pursued a career in sports, as she is now a basketball field rep for women’s sports marketing at Jordan Brand. Jasmine spoke about what it’s like to be Jordan’s daughter while working for the brand.

“It’s powerful, it’s special. To have the name and work for the brand, it doesn’t feel real. People say all the time, ‘That’s your brand.’ I say, ‘No, it’s not,’ [but] yes, it is. I’m aware of it, but I don’t think about it as much as people around me do. I’m blessed with the name and an opportunity, but I don’t take it for granted.”

Jasmine also made it clear she didn’t walk into the door and take executive roles. She wanted to make sure that when a great opportunity presented itself later down the road, she could say she worked her way from the bottom and earned what she got. Jasmine doesn’t want anyone to think she was handed everything on a silver platter.

Juanita Vanoy And Michael Jordan

Getting back to Vanoy, let’s have a deeper look at her and Jordan. The two first met all the way back in 1985 in a restaurant in Chicago. They were introduced to each other by some mutual friends and started dating at some point.

On New Year’s Eve in 1987, Jordan proposed to Vanoy, and the two got engaged. In 1988, they welcomed their first child, Jeffrey, and the following year, they tied the knot. In 1990, the couple welcomed their second child, Marcus, and then Jasmine was born in 1992.

While the two dealt with some issues, as most couples do, they stayed together through them. That almost changed in 2002, though, as Vanoy filed for divorce, not long after Jordan had come out of retirement to play for the Washington Wizards.

The two managed to reconcile, however, and she withdrew her petition. In 2006, though, they filed for divorce and this time, did split. It was reported to be a mutual and amicable split, with Vanoy reportedly receiving a $168 million divorce settlement. At that time, it was the largest celebrity divorce settlement on public record.

While Vanoy doesn’t appear to have remarried after that, Jordan did. He proposed to Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto in 2011 and the two got married in 2013. In 2014, the couple welcomed twin daughters, and their relationship seems to be going strong.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
