Michael Jordan‘s daughter, Jasmine Mikaela Jordan was recently seen having a blast at the Drake concert, as the rapper made a stop in Charlotte.
Drake has been keeping close ties with the NBA throughout the summer, bringing out various NBA stars in either their home state or the state they play in. We saw this with LeBron James and Bronny in LA, Stephen Curry in Oakland, Devin Booker in Phoenix, and even Kevin Durant in Washington.
Jasmine Jordan is happy to live her life in the best way she can, but it’s reinforced by the belief that she’s working as hard as possible to earn a spot in the world of sports marketing, using her name to build her family’s legacy instead of simply profiting off it.
Jasmine Jordan Works As A Field Representative For The Jordan Brand
Jasmine Jordan is the only female field representative on the Jordan Brand, breaking barriers while working for the company that bears her family name on it. People can rightfully bring up qualms about nepotism, but Jasmine is clearly looking to work her way up the ranks instead of taking a cushy executive position without working for it.
She has previously worked with the Charlotte Hornets as well, currently serving as a liaison between the franchise and the Jordan Brand. Prior to that, she worked as the Coordinator of Basketball Operations for the Hornets, which meant she essentially worked to keep players and executives happy by taking care of whatever they may need while traveling or in their home state.
She brought change to the Hornets player evaluation policy by implementing a system for the Draft to better understand an athlete in four main areas: dominance, extraversion, patience, and formality. To make this happen, she earned a certificate in Predictive Index Assessment to create a real scientific basis for the system.
She graduated with a degree in sports management from Syracuse University, something he’s putting to good use now with her role in the Jordan brand. She’s proud of what she’s doing, especially for women in the space, and revealed the same in a Forbes interview.
“The Jordan culture is unapologetic. We want to be the best of the best. We want to know that when we’re signing athletes that they’re synonymous with the brand. So when they see that jump man logo, there’s a sense of excitement; there’s a sense of privilege and joy that comes with it. The culture embodies those elements of strength, grit, and hard work.”
Even if doors were opened because of her last name, Jasmine is showing she is willing to work hard and safeguard the future of a brand that carries her name as well. Given how Marcus Jordan is in a relationship his father doesn’t approve of and was accused of backdooring Jordan shoes, Jasmine is actively working to keep the brand in a strong place.
