Michael Jordan keeps winning, even decades after retiring. The greatest player of all time sat on never-seen-before footage for twenty years and all of a sudden decided that it was time to remind everybody why he the biggest legend to ever set foot on a basketball hardwood.
The Last Dance was a massive success among NBA fans and even people who weren’t that fond of sports at all. Everybody wanted to take a glimpse at that behind the scenes footage and get to know the real Michael Jordan.
So, after amassing a huge amount of money and leading the ratings for 5 weeks, now the documentary is nominated for three Emmy Awards: Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program, according to ESPN’s PR department:

The Last Dance showed Michael Jordan on ways we had never seen before. It walked you through his entire journey from his back yard in North Carolina to the Windy City and winning 6 NBA Championships. We saw him vulnerable, his human side, as well as how demanding and tough he was a leader.
Also, Jordan finally had the chance to tell his side of the story. Like it or not, controversial or not, and even if some stories seemed kind of off to some people (Horace Grant and Sam Smith), there was nothing not to love about the documentary.
Basketball and not basketball fans truly appreciated the documentary, especially amid this tough times with no NBA on TV. Now, it seems like the greatest of all time will take home even another award.
