The 2008 Redeem Team has been one of the hottest topics around the NBA recently, as LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are executive producers behind this documentary. That team landed in China with a lot of pressure on their shoulders after failing to win the gold medal in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.

At the time, USA Basketball made sure to send their best weapons to the Asian country, assembling a dangerous squad that looked ready to take over and beat everybody on their way to the gold medal. Despite having everybody’s eyes on them, they were about themselves and did their job on the court, which ultimately paid off for them.

One of the members of that team recently recalled some of the memories he made in China, sharing touches with legends of the game while showing all his quality in front of the world.

He was one of the best Milwaukee Bucks players during the 2000s, and he took his quality to China to help other people reach glory, living moments he’ll never forget.

During a recent interview on the Ball Don’t Stop podcast, Redd opened up about his time on the Redeem Team and how proud he was of himself after winning it all alongside players like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James.

“I went from a second-round pick to being on the Redeem Team and winning a gold medal with Kobe, Wade and LeBron. It was like a dream. You still have to pinch me. It was by far the highlight of my playing career,” Redd stated.

That must have been a great experience for sure, more so knowing all the quality players surrounding him. It’s good to know that Redd didn’t back down to the challenge and gave his everything to the team. We’ll learn more details about that squad, the time they spent in China, and everything that happened before they were Olympic champions again, but we have to wait until the hyped documentary is released.
