“When I drink I think I become superhuman. There’s only one person I’ve actually learned not to do that with, Joel is the only person I’m actually terrified. There’s a true story. We were in New York together. There was a big group of us together and he like kind of pushed me jokingly so I knocked him over.”

“He picked me up in a pretzel and squeezed me, blood started coming out of my face, it was actually bad… I learned my lesson with him, doesn’t matter how much I drink I’m not ever getting a fight with him.”

Rubin confessed that when he consumes alcohol, he sometimes feels invincible. However, he was quick to note that there’s one exception to this rule, and that’s Joel Embiid. In a moment in New York, with a large group of people present, Joel playfully pushed Rubin. In response, Rubin knocked Embiid over. But what happened next was a vivid lesson in why you should think twice before taking on Embiid.

Embiid swiftly and effortlessly picked Rubin up, contorting him into a pretzel-like shape and squeezing him so tightly that Rubin’s face began to bleed. The incident left Rubin with a clear realization: no matter how much he’s had to drink, he’s never going to pick a fight with Joel Embiid.

Rubin’s story serves as a humorous yet cautionary tale about the imposing presence and strength of NBA superstars like Embiid, reminding us that it’s always wise to think twice before taking on someone of his caliber, especially in a playful manner.

Michael Rubin Sounds Off The James Harden Situation

Michael Rubin, the former owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, has voiced his strong opinions on the ongoing James Harden situation, shedding light on how he believes it could have been avoided had he still been involved in the team’s front office. Rubin, who sold his 10% stake in the Sixers last June to focus on expanding Fanatics, highlighted that the current turmoil could have been prevented with his influence.

Rubin’s departure from the franchise was driven by his desire to prevent any conflict of interest, as his billion-dollar sports merchandising company was poised to launch a gambling vertical. However, he now criticizes how Sixers team president Daryl Morey managed the Harden situation.

In a conversation with Pat Beverley on the Pat Bev Podcast, Rubin expressed his deep connection with Harden, referring to the star player as “family.” He passionately defended Harden’s commitment to winning a championship and his strong work ethic, which he compared to that of a brother.

Rubin’s comments suggest that he could have played a significant role in averting the current situation. While some reports have painted Harden negatively in the media, Beverley, who joined the Sixers in the offseason, offered a more positive perspective on Harden’s attitude and contributions to the team.

Rubin’s insights emphasize the complexities and challenges within the Sixers organization and how the absence of key figures can impact critical decisions and player relations.

Joel Embiid Can Leave The Sixers

Joel Embiid, the Philadelphia 76ers’ star center, is at a critical juncture in his career with growing uncertainty about his future in the franchise. The ongoing James Harden situation, coupled with the apparent strengthening of rivals like the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, has raised concerns about Embiid’s long-term commitment to the Sixers.

The Harden saga has unfolded with its fair share of drama, showcasing the internal challenges faced by the team. Amidst these developments, the Bucks and Celtics have managed to bolster their rosters, emerging as clear favorites in the Eastern Conference. This, in turn, has put the Sixers in a challenging position, as they need to make significant improvements to keep up with their competitors.

Embiid, widely regarded as one of the most dominant players in the league, has consistently expressed his desire to compete for an NBA championship. If the Sixers fail to provide him with the necessary support and create a stable environment, there is a real possibility that he might explore other opportunities.

The pressure is on the Sixers’ front office to address these concerns, solidify their roster, and create an atmosphere conducive to success. Joel Embiid’s future in Philadelphia could be closely linked to the team’s ability to deliver on these crucial fronts.
