Montrezl Harrell surprised everybody when he decided to take his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers after spending the last three seasons with crosstown rivals Clippers. Harrell was said to have issues with the Clippers and the preferential treatment they had for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, which created a rift between the player, his teammates and the front office.
It looked like he decided to join the Lakers out of pure anger but Harrell has dismissed all those rumors. It’s been said that the fact that LeBron James is represented by the same agency that represents Harrell, the King recruited the big man when nobody saw them. Well, he also played down those rumors, explaining his decision was purely financial. Harrell made it clear that his agency had nothing to do with it, as he only cared about providing for his family.
“As far as my decision, it (relationship with James and Davis) didn’t have any effect, because at the end of the day my decision doesn’t affect neither one of those guys’ lives,” Harrell said, via Corey Hansford of Lakers Nation.
“I have a family I have to provide for, so my decision was my decision. I talked with my family and people in my tight circle, and this is what we felt was best for me.”
Montrezl Harrell says Klutch Sports “has nothing to do” with his decision to sign with the Lakers.

It was a very good decision for Harrell and his career. He has the chance to play with great players, under a great coach and his presence solidified the Lakers as the favorite team to win the championship this year. The current Sixth Man of the Year is ready to do whatever it takes to help his team and the Lakers can’t be happier to have a great piece on the roster.
