NBA Announces 2023 All-Star Reserves

The All-Star break is coming up, and there’s no doubt that many fans are excited about watching the best players in the world face off against one another in the All-Star Game. It is clear that there is a lot of talent in the league, and the game is one way to celebrate the best of the best.

Though the All-Star starters were already revealed previously, today, we got the announcement about the All-Star reserves. There is definitely a lot of talent within the reserves, with notable top-tier players such as Ja Morant, Joel Embiid, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander being among the players selected. Some of the players involved had cases to be All-Star starters as well, and that just shows the amount of talent in the league today.

2022-23 NBA East All-Star reserves: Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Bam Adebayo, Julius Randle, DeMar DeRozan, Jrue Holiday, Tyrese Haliburton.

2022-23 NBA West All-Star reserves: Ja Morant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Damian Lillard, Jaren Jackson Jr., Domantas Sabonis, Lauri Markkanen, Paul George.

We made some predictions about the All-Star reserves a few days ago, and it definitely seems as though a large portion of our predictions came true. A number of predictions were easier than others, but it is definitely good to see that we got a lot of things correct.

There were definitely other deserving candidates out there, such as James Harden. The coaches definitely had a tough time with the selections this year, and it seems as though every year, someone gets snubbed. Perhaps those players can make it in the future, and the talent in the league makes getting a spot that much more competitive.


The All-Star Game Is Bound To Be A Hit This Year

There is no doubt that all the selected players are having fantastic seasons, both within the starters and the reserves. For certain players, like Tyrese Haliburton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, this marks their first All-Star selection. Others, like Paul George and Damian Lillard, are legends of the game who have consistently been selected throughout their careers. This selection is important for all the players for different reasons, and it is good to see the selected players get recognized.

It remains to be seen what the All-Star teams are going to look like, as the captains have not yet selected their rosters. Based on the talent involved, this could be one of the best All-Star games in recent memory, and we’ll see more excitement from fans as we get closer to the date of the game.
