NBA Executive Suggests Anthony Davis For Zach LaVine Trade: “Zach Would Like To Be In L.A. He Wants To Be A Laker. That’s Not Really A Secret.”

Anthony Davis has been the subject of many rumors in recent times, and one of the only stars in the NBA that has seen more speculation about his future is probably Zach LaVine. AD’s unavailability and the Lakers’ struggles have turned him from someone that was considered untradeable to a player that might be moved on if the right trade becomes available.

Zach LaVine is a free agent this offseason and while the Bulls are hoping to bring him back and continue building their team, he has spoken about the fact that he will consider offers from everywhere. He was spotted in Los Angeles after his season ended, and that led to speculation about a potential move to the Lakers.

As per a report from Heavy.com, an NBA executive spoke about a potential trade that could see Zach LaVine go to the Lakers in a deal involving Anthony Davis. The executive also suggested that LaVine wants to be a Laker.

“Zach would like to be in L.A. He wants to be a Laker. That’s not really a secret,” the executive said. “But the roster just is not going to allow for it. The Bulls have a soft spot for Anthony Davis, he is a Chicago guy, that goes up to the ownership. If the Lakers put a swap of AD and LaVine on the table, sure, the Bulls have to look at that.

“But LaVine, everything points to him going back and signing on with Chicago, getting paid. Give it a year or so and if things don’t keep moving forward with the Bulls, then you could start having him pushing for a Lakers trade. The Lakers will be off of Westbrook’s contract, they will have more flexibility.”

Davis is originally from Chicago, which means he is often linked with a move back to his hometown team, so this report isn’t surprising. However, considering how good AD is when he’s healthy, a potential trade like this would likely see more pieces added to it from the Bulls’ side.
