The Los Angeles Lakers probably had one of their worst seasons ever last season. Despite bringing in Russell Westbrook to support the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers were a lost cause.

Ending up with a record of 33-49, the Lakers couldn't even make it to the play-in tournament last campaign, which truly was the most embarrassing result. Given how disastrous their season was, fans hoped that the Purple and Gold would be active in the trade market.

Fast forward to June 30th, the Lakers' core remains unchanged, and the supposed trades which were supposed to bolster their roster haven't materialized. While there were rumblings that the Lakers were trying to build a package around Westbrook for a possible LeBron-Kyrie reunion, all of it was put to rest the moment Irving decided to opt into his deal and extend his stay with the Nets.

Given how unsuccessful the Lakers have been in their trade exploits, it was unsurprising to see memes pop up clowning the franchise. But one of the members certainly took the cake. NBA Twitter's meme lord Josiah Johnson had a field day and posted a hilarious clip from Rick Ross' music video. With the caption about the Lakers asking other teams for a trade, Ross' clip of singing, "No sir, not me" really capped off a hilarious meme.

Many others chimed in and reacted to the hilarious meme.

Laker fans, on the other hand, should not lose all hope. Given the star talent they have in LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, the Lakers might get many opportunities to pull off trades in the near future.

Another positive for the franchise will be that free agency is starting today. Given how terrible their veteran-led supporting cast was, an overhaul is due. If the Lakers can build a competent supporting cast, things might change for the better for the Purple and Gold very soon.
