NBA Fan Suggests Blockbuster Anthony Davis Trade With The Golden State Warriors: Anthony Davis And Kendrick Nunn For Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, And Two 1st Round Picks

Anthony Davis has struggled mightily this season, his injuries have meant that the Los Angeles Lakers have underperformed for the second time in as many years. Davis recently hit out at his critics explaining that his injuries are not small or easy to deal with. The way things are going, there have been suggestions that AD might just be on the trading block this offseason, with Bill Simmons backing teams like the New York Knicks to make a move.

Although it’s unlikely that Davis will be moved on in the offseason, a significant haul being offered by a team could tempt the Lakers into making a move. And if they decide to blow the whole team up, then perhaps no team can offer them a package like the Golden State Warriors can for Anthony Davis.

NBA fan GameHHH on Reddit outlined a deal that the Warriors could make that would allow them to add AD to their existing core of Steph, Klay, and Draymond, instantly making them favorites if the big man can stay healthy.

“This is based on the rumors that Lebron is going to request a trade back to the Cavs. If that happens should Dray reach out to his fellow Klutch brother AD in order to facilitate a trade request to the Dubs?

“Obviously, AD has been super injury prone and that’s the biggest risk. However, the same can be said for Otto Porter Jr and he has remained healthy due to minutes restrictions and no back-to-backs. There is no guarantee but maybe limiting AD to 28 minutes per game in the regular season and no back-to-backs could keep him healthy?

“Something like Wiggins (expiring contract), Wiseman, Kuminga, and 2 lottery protected 1st round picks for AD and salary filler (Nunn works). The Lakers would have a ton of cap space after next season with Westbrook, Wiggins, and Kevin Love ( he would be the expiring contract/salary filler in the LeBron trade) all expiring.”

“Curry, Poole, Klay, Dray, and AD can potentially 3 peat IF healthy. Plus they would still have Poole and Moody for their future young core.”

This is a pipe dream and it would remain to be seen if the Lakers would even be willing to do a deal like this. Considering that their entire future is dependent on winning a few championships with their current core though, and the fact that they have very few assets to retool, this may not be as wild a prospect as it seems.
