The year 2018 was a simpler time for all. Draymond Green was coming off his third championship win, while Conor McGregor was still respected as an elite fighter. Ahead of McGregor’s boxing matchup with Floyd Mayweather in August 2018, he put up a picture of him wearing a No. 23 throwback Warriors jersey. This prompted Draymond to tell Conor to take the jersey off since he wears No. 23 and he rocks with Floyd Mayweather.

Conor’s ruthless response is still talked about. Fans reacted to the same after Draymond’s recent violent outbursts on the court, saying McGregor may be the only one who can actually stop Green.

Draymond Green: “We rocking with Floyd bro, not you… Take that off.”

Conor McGregor: “That’s C.J. Watson mate. I don’t know who the f**k you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and staying in school… Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.J. when I don’t know or give a f**k about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here, kid.”

“The only man who can stop Draymond Green.”

“Literally too. Dude will dribble Green’s head.”

“Best L he ever handed someone.”

“I would pay to see this match.”

“Draymond gets owned.”

“That’s funny I don’t remember the last time McGregor won a fight. Still rude and disrespectful as ever. Probably will never win again, unless it’s someone who is past their prime. Just saying.”

“Absolute gold.”

“Dray got served.”

“Still a quality burn.”

“Draymond needs to get into boxing. He could make lots by boxing Logan Paul and McGregor.”

“DAZN, make it happen.”

Both Green and McGregor have fallen from grace since 2018 when this interaction happened. McGregor has only won one MMA bout since then, even losing his boxing matchup against Floyd after this trash-talk. Green won another championship in 2022 but is now serving an indefinite suspension for his violent outbursts on the court

Did Draymond Green Ever Respond To Conor McGregor?

Green issued a pretty ruthless response to McGregor that’s often forgotten about, primarily because he dropped insults that Conor had no response to.

“That number won’t be worn again when I’m finished with it clown! Gold medalist, NBA champ, All-Star, DPOY etc!!! Hahahaha stop it, boy! Nate Diaz whooped you in your ring! Money May is about to destroy you!!! Take that Warrior jersey off bruh, you’re an incredible internet troll we don’t rock with you!!! Go train bum!”

McGregor claims he was wearing a C.J. Watson jersey, but many believe that it was a Jason Richardson Warriors jersey and that McGregor name-dropped Watson because of Mayweather’s domestic violence history. Mayweather had been charged with domestic violence for hitting his then-girlfriend Josie Harris in September 2010, with one of the reasons for the attack being messages from C.J. Watson on her phone after they had split up

Draymond found himself dragged into fight promotion, with it being clear that the No. 23 jersey in Conor’s pic was before Draymond’s era. But most people will associate 23 with Green on the franchise, a number that’s going to be retired one day. He has the right to defend the number, but it does seem like he got involved in something that had nothing to do with him.
