With the Los Angeles Lakers trailing 105-82 in the fourth quarter of their game against the Orlando Magic on Saturday night, LeBron James decided to attempt a one-legged three-pointer. It was a terrible decision on his part, and the shot even ended up being blocked by Jonathan Isaac.

Unsurprisingly, NBA fans called out James for this wild attempt.

One felt LeBron was being too arrogant here.

A fan couldn’t believe James attempted this while his team was trailing by 23 points.

A fan stated this was a terrible idea.

LeBron was termed a foolish person by one fan.

One fan says LeBron is too smart to be doing things like this.

One joked that it’s time for James to retire.

A fan roasted LeBron for trying to imitate WNBA’s Marine Johannes.

It very well could be that LeBron was inspired by Johannes. She hits one-legged falling away threes remarkably well, and the 38-year-old was in awe of her shotmaking in Game 1 of the 2023 WNBA Finals.

“She got a CANNON!!!! The 1 leg going left got me out my seat!!”

Not everyone can do that, however, and that includes someone as great as LeBron. He should stick to his tried and tested formula that has worked ever so well in his incredible 21-year career in the NBA.

While the Lakers would end up getting blown out 120-101 here, James still had a good game. He finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals on the night, and continued his fine start to the campaign on an individual level. LeBron is now averaging 24.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, but worryingly for him, it’s not translating to wins.

LeBron James Shared His Thoughts On The Lakers’ Early Season Struggles

This loss to the Magic dropped the Lakers to 3-3 on the season and they haven’t played up to expectations so far. This was a team that many expected to be among the very best in the Western Conference but they certainly haven’t been that. After the loss, LeBron broke his silence on the Lakers’ early season struggles.

He pointed to offensive rebounds and points off turnovers being their biggest issues, and they indeed were against Orlando. The Magic had a 19-10 advantage when it came to offensive rebounds, which translated to a 36-15 advantage in second-chance points.

They also turned 17 Lakers turnovers into 22 points off turnovers, and when you look at those factors, it’s easy to understand why the final score was so lopsided. You’d hope they respond strongly to this setback when they take on the Miami Heat on Monday night.

LeBron James Gifted His Shooting Sleeve To A Young Fan During The Game

While James’ decision to attempt that shot didn’t go down well at all with NBA fans, he did something else as well which won the hearts of many. As he sat on the bench, the 19-time All-Star noticed a young fan in the crowd and decided to make her day.

James gave the young girl his shooting sleeve and a band, in what was a wonderful move on his part. While she’d have been disappointed to see her team lose, LeBron’s gesture lifted her spirits and it will end up being a day she’d never forget. Whatever you may think of James as a player, you have to commend him for such acts.
