The Phoenix Suns came into their series against the Denver Nuggets as the slight favorites, but the Nuggets showed them just why they are the top seed in the West.
The Nuggets blew out the Suns 125-107 in what was a dominant performance and NBA fans clowned Phoenix for getting dismantled in embarrassing fashion.
A fan mocked the Suns by claiming they looked like a G League team.

A fan says the Suns are struggling because they are going up against a healthy team for once.
I guess things are just different when the suns actually face a healthy team 🤷🏽♂️

Jamal Murray was spectacular in this one, as he ripped apart the Suns defense. He finished the night with a game-high 34 points to go with 5 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 steals. Nikola Jokic wasn’t his usual efficient self, but he still ended up with 24 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jokic was the big reason why the Nuggets dominated on the glass, as they out-rebounded the Suns 49-38.
Denver had 16 offensive rebounds while Phoenix only had 8 and the one to blame for that would be Deandre Ayton, whose lack of effort during one particular play, summed up how things went down. As for the two stars on the Suns, Kevin Durant had 29 points and 14 rebounds but also had 7 turnovers, while Devin Booker had 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists. The only real positive for the Suns is that it is just one game, but if the rest of the series continues to have some of the trends we saw tonight, then they are in deep trouble.
CJ McCollum Had Picked The Suns To Get Past The Nuggets
The Suns had plenty of believers before this game, and CJ McCollum was one of them. The New Orleans Pelicans guard felt that Booker and Durant would ultimately be too much for the Nuggets, and he picked Phoenix to win in six games. McCollum did predict that Denver would win Game 1, but he probably didn’t anticipate it would be this lopsided.
One of the biggest issues that had been brought up regarding the Suns was their poor bench, and that unit struggled once again here. They scored some points at the end but, for much of that game, gave little to no support to the starters. It is going to once again take some superhuman performances from Booker and Durant if the Suns are to reach the Conference Finals.
