NBA Fans Destroy Kendrick Perkins For Suggesting Lakers Should Take Russell Westbrook Over Chris Paul In The Offseason: “He Should Be Suspended From Talking Ball.”

The Los Angeles Lakers were expected to be so good before the season began. There were some doubts about the age and health of their superstars but nobody expected them to finish lower than the 4th or the 5th seed in the Western Conference. And some had them doing miles better than that, Kendrick Perkins was backing them for a 70-win season.

Now that the team has officially been eliminated from contention for the playoffs this season, all these takes from media members are getting exposed, and Perkins had another terrible one that fans have picked up on. When there were still questions about who the Lakers should pursue as a 3rd star alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Perkins advocated for Russell Westbrook over Chris Paul.

“Well, you know what, with all due respect to CP3, you gotta go with the Brodie. I’m going with Russell Westbrook. We talking about a guy that’s still in his prime… You put the Brodie back home, it takes the pressure off of LeBron James, who’s getting up in age, and now you have Russell Westbrook who you can pair up with Anthony Davis. A guy that takes the pressure off of them… If I’m the Lakers I would really consider targeting Russell Westbrook over CP3.”

Knowing what NBA fans know now and with the way the season has unfolded, this take looks patently ridiculous. Paul has again been central in leading the Suns to their best-ever record, while Westbrook has regressed at an alarming rate. And fans may be many things, but they are not forgiving, so Perkins got roasted hard for this take on Twitter after it resurfaced on Tuesday.

“CP3 is leaps and bounds better than Westbrook lmfaoo.”

“Kendrick Perkins Doesnt know sh*t.”

“You tricked yourself.”

“Can’t believe this! Russ is overrated bruh.”

“This is an insane take.”

“Who could have foreseen this.”

“it was crazy then but now he should be atleast suspended from talking ball.”

“Boy this take didn’t age well…”

“Kendrick Perkins had no idea what he was talking about with this one.”

Everyone is bound to get a few wrong here and there but Perkins’ takes on the Lakers will live on in infamy as some of the worst by a media member in a while. Chris Paul looks like he has another excellent shot at getting his first ring while Russell Westbrook might just be one of the worst contracts in the league with a fairly uncertain future.
