The Golden State Warriors are set to face off against the Boston Celtics, with both teams having enjoyed really impressive runs to reach the NBA Finals. The Warriors are aiming to win their 4th championship with this core, while the Celtics are looking to start an era of their own behind Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Both teams are likable in that they are filled with homegrown talent and have been largely built through the NBA draft. However, in the modern NBA, every superstar also has their critics, so there are obviously those hoping to see either Steph Curry or Jayson Tatum come up short on the biggest stage.

Fans that are neutral, which means fans of 28 other teams, have a dilemma in terms of whom to support, and there doesn’t seem to be a conclusive answer. Reddit saw a huge discussion take place on the subject between fans, with many explaining which teams they’re supporting and why, while others took the opportunity to express their overarching displeasure regarding this matchup:

“As a Lakers fan I just want to somehow see both lose.”

“Whoever wins just determines who I get to slander more between KD or Booker.”

“I want the Warriors to win in 5 so that I can say the Grizzlies pushed them the furthest.”

“Weird to say that I really like this Celtics squad, but I’m here for Curry’s legacy. Either way, it’s gonna be good ball.”

“As a professional hater I’m just trying to see someone choke, it don’t matter if it’s Tatum or Curry.”

“I don’t care who wins but I want 7 games.”

“I will forever hate Boston but I love your roster. Hard not to root for Tatum…I just can’t have Boston fans getting another championship.”

“Warriors because I hate the Celtics and Love Jordan Poole.”

“As a Mavs fan I want to see the Celtics thrash these Warriors.”

“Warriors because KD would go nuts on Twitter.”

“I’m a Lakers fan and I’m trying to get these Finals cancelled.”

“Either team winning sounds worse than the other.”

“I just don’t want to think about this.”

“Celtics because it’s time for Jayson Tatum to be the first yuong superstar to get his ring.”

“Warriors have won enough, give the Cs a chance.”

There is no way to tell which way the series will swing, although NBA media has already begun making their predictions. The Celtics arguably have the better roster, but the Warriors stars have been there and done that numerous times already. A cracker of a series will please most neutral fans though, so the hope is that both these teams can provide a hard-fought, entertaining contest
