Giannis Antetokounmpo is keeping his name in the upper echelon of NBA stars. After over half a decade of being recognized as one of the best players in the league, Giannis is considered to be the single-best player in the league right now for his incredible 2-way ability.

Antetokounmpo was named the captain of the Eastern Conference ahead of the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. However, it seems Giannis may not be available to beat Team LeBron James at All-Star this year.

During the Bucks’ win over the Chicago Bulls, Giannis crashed to the ground and managed to injure his wrist. He checked out of the game to treat the same and fans are now worried he will not participate in All-Star weekend.

Given how high the stakes are for the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis may be better off missing the game and making use of this week to get healthy for the final leg of the season. If Giannis drops out, he’ll join Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Zion Williamson on the injured list. Joel Embiid may also join that list.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Focusing On A Championship

Giannis has achieved everything that he can in the NBA in terms of accolades. He has a title, Finals MVP, regular MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, has captained All-Star Games, and so on. Everything he does from now on is to compete with the all-time greats of the sport over who ranks higher on the list for the greatest.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists this season and his Bucks are on a 12-game win streak heading into the All-Star break. The Bucks are among the title favorites so Giannis will likely miss the All-Star game to continue focusing on the season to win his second NBA title in 3 years.
